Cheryl, thanks for dragging me in last Saturday. Some days are just like that! Angie and Karen, be sure to bring your medals next weekend. We want to see what we missed! Cindy, let us know how the class is. It sounds like something I would like. I'm not looking forward to 13 miles this Saturday. I was totally wore out after 12 last weekend. How did I ever do 26.2? I'm going to try to behave myself this Friday and not drink any wine!! We'll see. JR
I will bring my medal for sure! They are pretty awesome. I will not be running 13 miles though, not sure how many i should run. I am thinking maybe 10. I feel like i haven't seen everyone in forever. Can't wait to catch up.
Looking forward to running with everyone on Sat. and catching up on medals, new houses, birthday celebrations, etc. You know me, the earlier the better but I'll defer to the group. 13 works for me although after speed work today, I don't know how it will go. It was the worst run I ever had. I swear the treadmill was indicating the wrong speed. I had to hold on just to keep from falling off backward! I won't check the blog again until late tomorrow so just plan on me being wherever/whenever you decide. THe forecast looks a bit scary so I'll also check before I leave home in case any minds get changed! Jeri
Unfortunately I have to run at 6 because Madison has a track meet in Jeff City (maybe I should be saying fortunately that she didn't get kicked off the team for truancy and forgery....OMG, just get through this last month please w/out killing your mother), and I need to be able to leave town early. I plan on running with Dougs group from Washington Perk, will probably only do 10. If the weather is crappy, may change my mind....Unless anyone is interested in running Sunday instead? Angie
If anyone wanted to join us, the route could easily be added too-planning on running out Warren-Barret drive and on to Route O and back. Nice and flat....Angie
I'm good with 7 am too. I think BTG is doing 12 on the Bottom Road. Shall we meet at Washington Park? We can do either the BTG or Doug's route from there.
Hope to get my run on Saturday morning but the forecast is looking kind of wet-hope they are wrong. Bridge the gap is doing North bottom road and I haven't seen anything different for the Doug's group. I plan to start at 7-don't know if I can make it by 6. Jeri-there is a treadmill at the hospital that I swear is from hell because it has almost thrown me off of it and Trista has said the same thing but it shows you as going much slower than your normal pace. It plays game with your head. Angie-If I could get myself out of bed to run at 6 you certainly have my attention. Teenagers-got to love em but can't legally kill em. will check blog in am to see what the plan is since storms could be a problem-if only rain will be there.
Doug's route goes over to Jackson, up to S. 20th and then heads north to College. College to Columbus Rd and up to 54th which goes by Sam's. Over to Maine and back to Washington Park.
I'll be at Washington Park at 7 unless it is storming and lightening. Sun. will be the backup plan. I'll check before I leave to see if that is still the plan. Jeri
Just talked to Cheryl-she was down at Washington Park wondering where we were. Told her I was getting ready to run at 8 am so she is planning on running at 8 also. I think we can plan on getting wet.
I am so glad that I have my 13 miles done but the last 2 miles were brutal due to the humidity and ran out of water. I think I would have welcomed a rain shower by the end. There was a group who ran at 6 am-Claudia, Mindy, Letty, and Deb. It was pouring at our house at that time. Had some back issues Friday night so I didn't sleep well and started to notice it during the last 2 miles. Feels better now.
I'm glad to have my run in too. I wore my old shoes since I thought it would rain, and my knees hurt and I got a blister. I complained the whole way, as Cheryl can attest! Angie, can't wait to hear the latest on Madison. Those of us who've had teens have all been there!
I took out of here about 9 and it rained most of the run. I am also very glad to get that over with. I hope next weekend pans out so we can get together to plan. See you all then. Jeri
Karen and I did our 10 today. No rain, but it sure was tough, not sure if it was the humidity or the freakin hilly route I planned(sorry Karen). We persevered and tried to tell ourselves it was our speed workout. My teen and I are both still alive....haha!!hope to run with u nxt week, but Madison has another meet, depends what time I have to leave. Angie
I am not sure what BTG is running this weekend, but what is everyone thinking of running? I plan on running with the group. I need to catch up and make sure I still have a bed to sleep in for the Illinois Half and to see what everyone's plans are!! I am thinking of cutting back to 8 miles, but if everyone is running more, I could always shorten it and run less! I have been practicing the running less thing all year, ha, ha!
Karen - Not sure what BTG is doing but Doug's plan is for 8 for the Illinois half & full marathoners.
I normally favor going at 8 but wondered if 7 or 7:30 would work this week. I'm headed to Spfld again on Sat. but would like to be able to go for coffee afterwards to make plans for the following weekend. If we go at 8, I'll probably have to head straight home.
What...no earlier than 7! Many of Doug's group will be done by the time we get started so don't know that we will run into anyone. 7 at Washington Park works for me. If anyone decides to go earlier I'm game for that. I'll check the blog before I head to bed (and before I leave) so I know when I need to get up! It will ge good to see everyone and plan next weekend. Angie I hope you can join us.
So I thought I was going to be able to run in the morning, but that is not looking promising. I forgot that I switched my turkey season so that I could run the Illinois half and that means my turkey season starts tomorrow! I will be up bright and early, but not to run!! I was hoping to be able to at least come and have coffee with you guys, but that all depends on the hunt. Where have you guys been having coffee these days, in case I make it? You could always text me in the morning also, if something changes. If I do not make it to town, do I still have a bed to sleep in next weekend?? I know at one time Angie and I were going to share and she can't go, so I will sleep wherever. I do not mind having my own room or I will share. I also will drive or help pay for gas, if that works for anyone. Just keep me posted or call me 217-430-9231.
Karen-we had a fresh turkey for dinner tonight that Kent shot Wednesday. It really tasted much better than what I remember but I think it how he fixed it.
Hooray!! I get to run with you all in the morning...I was waiting for Madison to get home from work so I could see what time she actually ran tomorrow in Mexico, but she doesn't run until the afternoon, so I will be there in the morning to join you. Does anyone know what the btg schedule is from now until the race, I'm wondering where I should be for the next few weeks, if maybe I should be doing more tomorrow? In any case, am looking forward to seeing you all...Angie
Angie-I think btg is doing mile repeats tomorrow-something new they are doing this year. Next week they do 13 and then I not sure what they are doing the week before the race.
Karen, we do have a room for you! We decided to leave Quincy on Friday morning at 9:30. I would be happy to drive. Jeri talked about you and her meeting us in Hull at some church. We thought we would have lunch in Springfield. I need to be back in Quincy by 4:00 on Saturday, so we will plan on leaving there by 11. Should be a fun weekend. J

Yes, Washington Park - out N. 5th to Einhaus Lane, down to river, and back on bottom road. 8 miles.
Thanks for going at 7.
