Looks like I will be running the half marathon with all of you after all! Paul didn't realize that Cub Scout Camp was that Friday and Saturday, so he and I are doing a 5K later - probably the Liberty race. I was looking forward to a nice short run that day...oh well! At least we all have all our long runs done! J
Okay Groupies - Here I am!!!! Sorry for going dark for a while okay for a long while. As some of you may or may not know or have heard, I am in the process of getting divorced. It is really hard to explain, but I will tell you this (not that it is anyone's business, but others are making it their business). I am not seeing anyone else, kids are doing okay, this was really not a surprise to them, we've been through counseling in the past and things are just not going to work out.
So what else is new???
I did good at my first triathlon race, reached my goal of coaching all my group of trainees to a sub 2hr half at Illinois last weekend. I even got Ryan in at 1:53:43 (1 sec ahead of me :)
Sorry I've been quite, just playing it cool for a little while. Hope you understand I and know you do. Thanks for being my friends and tolerating me :)~
FYI - My comment above about others making it their business does not pertain to any Groupies. All of you are my good friends and I appreciate that, however, I have other friends that I thought were friends (non-runners, haha) that are not even talking to me anymore or spreading wrong information and is a sore subject for me. Bottom line is, I have never been divorced so I do not really know the protocol on how and when to tell people, and I really do not want to get into all the nitty gritty details of it because it is personal stuff but it still does not change who I am as a person all of a sudden. People cannot judge a situation without knowing all the facts and there is no way to know all the facts without being in their shoes. Not trying to lecture, but friends are very important to me (not more than my kids though)and in situations like this, one really finds out who their true, true friends are. :)~
Mike, just know that all of us are thinking of you and your family. It's tough...some of us have been there and some haven't but either way I know the groupies want the best for all. Even an adopted groupie like me! Hang in there. Running is therapy. I will miss running with everyone for the next 2 weeks. I'm coming home from Florida this SAt. and next Sat. most of you will be running BTG and I'll be heading to the Fox Theatre. I haven't run on the beach yet. Like a rookie tourist my feet got sunburned the 1st day on the beach and I can't get my shoes on yet! I hope tomorrow cuz I can finally walk down the steps the 'right'way. Take care, Jeri
Mike,as I said earlier, thanks for clearing that up, I was feeling some sting from a perceived slap in the face ;) Next time, we will just work it out like two kids on a playground, we will have a race...oh wait, you would win...unless I trip you ;) Take care of yourself, and get some runs in, (but remember, there's more to life than working out....I personally enjoy eating way more than working out) and don't forget about the groupies...we were here for you when you started running, just because you think you've graduated to a higher quality athlete doesn't mean you can't step down to our level on occasion-we miss you. Angie
Angie - I mean this in the nicest way I can, just shut it!!! LOL :)~ you are like a sister to me and all The Groupies (including Jeri) are family and I truly appreciate that. Remember once a Groupie always a Groupie!!! Right???!!!!
I think I am running on Saturday at 6am, anyone else running or in Angie's case walking????
Mike-you know we are here for you no matter what! I am always hear to listen if you need someone to talk to. I am also a licensed counselor, but that will cost you(lol).
What are everyone's thoughts about running this weekend? I am game for 6-8 miles. It is going to be hot!
Mike, I hardly know what to say...I am so sorry. From what you've already said, there's no hope for reconciliation so I hope that you are able to move on without too much pain and stress. Don't forget us groupies! J
Mike - sure hope you didn't think I knew something about this when I asked what was going on in your world. HAd no idea. Just knew you hadn't bee on FB or this blog and we missed you. So sorry to hear. Take care of yourself and your boys. Know this wasn't an easy decision. We're there for you.

Either time is ok with me-not sure how warm it is going to be. Also will need a route away from Maine street due to Dogwood Parade. Mike-you know we are here for you. I had not heard anything either prior to your posting.
Unfortunately I won't be able to run with you guys- Madison has a meet in Moberly and she runs at 9:40. I'm not sure I'm even going to be in shape enough to run Btg nxt weekend. I have only done once a week the last 3 weeks and its not been pretty. I guess I'll try to do 8 on Sunday and see how it goes. If anyone wpuld want to rin Sunday instead ....Angie

How about 7:30 at Clat Adams? Wouldn't mind doing Riverview Park once before BTG. I'm open for any other route too. Just throwing it out there. . .
