Angie and Karen, Dan told Cindy today that he still plans on participating in the Zombie Run. Some of us use Hal Higdon's training program; Dan uses Angie's. We may need Randy's services! I know everyone's schedule is crazy so let's make this as simple as possible and skip the costumes this year. I'll be looking for your posts and see you on Sat. Angie, will be thinking of you and Madison tomorrow. Everyone else, have a great run this weekend. After I become a Zombie, I am heading to Minneapolis for a few days and will do my 20 miler there and hopefully in cool weather. I'll see you next weekend. Jeri
I am planning on running Saturday-hoping to do 8 miles -I haven't ran much in the last 2 weeks but going to give it a try anyway. Jean-how many miles are you doing?
Angie, Jeri, and Karen-good luck with the Zombie Run and to your husbands too. Angie-hope everything went well with getting Madison to school today.
Hey all!! Dropping Madison off went surprisingly well-I didn't even cry...as I told Jeri, maybe it was because I saw pocketbook relief straight ahead after a $350 trip to the bookstore, ANOTHER $200 trip to Target and a $75 dinner....Hauling ass to the car...Priceless ;) I did have to drive home this morning and leave school shopping in St. Louis with Gabe to Tom, my mom had a really bad night, her platelet count had dropped to 2000. Spent the day with her, going to do the run in the morning as far as everything stays kosher with my mom, calling in hospice to talk to family on Sunday....my mom can hardly walk now. Not sure we will be able to get her back to hospital for her next appointment on Tuesday. Fell back into my old running habits this week and only ran once, maybe Dan and I can run together, haha!! Good luck running tomorrow, can't wait to run with the whole gang again, miss you Cindy and Cheryl! Angie (thanks for dropping off the books Cindy, I read through them and made my sister read them too)
Since I am not training for a marathon I am wondering why I got up at 4:30 am this morning for a run. Not sure what a zombie feels like but this could be close. Good luck to the zombies today. Angie-will be thinking about you and your family -glad things went well with getting Madison off to school. The thing about college books you hope the kids will open them after spending that much money. And don't you wish we had a Target in Quincy. Every college town seems to have one. I too am looking forward to the "whole gang" being together on a Saturday morning.
So we didn't "survive"during the zombie run, but we all finished and completed all the obstacles. We were a muddy mess, but it was fun. A few of us did get shocked and it hurt! They were going to place bets about who would scream first but there was no one to bet against me! And of course I was the first and probably only one of us to scream. I am sore today and I think it is from the uneven terrain and running for my life from zombies. Ready to see and run with everyone next Saturday!
Sorry to hear about your mom's health issues, Angie. Keeping all of you in my prayers.
I have had trouble thinking about getting up for a 6 am run too Cindy. Guess that's why I haven't made it to any. Did get a 5 mile run in this evening which is my long run for the week.
Hope to meet up with you on Saturday. Not sure I'll start at 6 but definitely want to meet up for coffee! Miss my running buddies. . .
Cheryl, Hope you had a happy birthday today!! Hope to celebrate with you soon!! Hope to see you all on Saturday! Karen, only have gotten one run in this week, hopefully will get at least 1 more in before our 15 miler ;) Angie
Happy belated birthday Cheryl. Hope you did something fun. Looks like the heat is back...yuck! Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday. Did I see 15 miles for the November marathon group? Thinking of you Angie. Jeri
I am guessing we are meeting at the park at 6am. Yes, Angie and I are scheduled to do 15 miles tomorrow! Hope we get done before it heats up. Can't wait to catch up with everyone!
Cheryl-according to Doug's route mile marker 5 is near your house. I plan on following his route which is kind of confusing-it is a 12 mile loop route. I plan to follow it to 48th and Maine and then I am going to head back towards downtown and will end up with around 10 miles more or less. Hope to see everyone for coffee after our runs. Hopefully the 15 mile runners won't beat me back.

Cheryl, I don't know if they help or not, though my legs felt pretty good after 14 miles.
Angie, don't shed too many tears when you drop Madison off at school! Just another stage of life.
Jeri, Karen and Angie, I know you'll have fun at your zombie run. And the weather shouldn't be too bad either. Take pics!
I'm planning on running Saturday morning. How about you, Cheryl and Cindy?

How much is everyone running tomorrow-are some doing 15 miles??? I was hoping to do something between 8-10 not really sure.
By cindy lou who, At August 24, 2012 at 6:23 PM
I will only be doing 6-7. If some are doing 15 I may start a little later to try to end up about the same time as the rest of you.

Hadn't thought of that Cindy. I do like the 7 mile route a little better though so I think I'll stick with it. See you all at the finish.
