Yes, that was me! This running is taking over my life - I need to adopt Angie's training schedule!
Is anyone going Friday night besides Cindy, Cheryl and I? We should meet and carpool. I can be the DD since I'm not drinking with a 20 mile run the next morning. It looks like Lola (Amy M.) is only doing 5 miles.
I'm still wanting to go to St. Louis and shop on Sunday. Fleet Feet, Target, Home Goods, etc. Let me know if you're interested. J
I will not be able to go Friday night, but I think I will be able to go shopping Sunday. That is if I can walk after Saturdays run! For some reason everything started hurting this week. Still trying to think positive though. Any ideas on what time we would leave to go shopping? Just wondering on how much/little sleep I might get this weekend!
Angie -I hope you are ready to kick butt and do this 18 miles! We should have nice weather again!
I am game for carpooling. I will probably only have my one drink limit. We did get tickets for the Mizzou football game but the game doesn't start till 6 pm so it will be a late night getting back to Quincy so not sure about Sunday. Would love to go but kind of on the fence. Is there info about Saturdays run out there?
Still planning to go to Spirt Knob but will be attending Unity's Homecoming Parade first at 5. Will meet you there. I'm only planning for about 8 on Saturday am. Sunday shopping is working for me.
Watching the movie Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close-so touching. I wished I had watched it on 9-11. Hoping it helped the survivors of 9-11 in their grief. to try and make sense of what does not make sense.
I'm a no for Friday night, a yes for a 8-12 mile run on Saturday and a maybe for Sunday. I have been gone every night this week so haven't looked at the study load for next week. I will try to get that done tomorrow night so I will know on Saturday. Looks like it should be a good morning. I have submitted my registration for Boston in April 2013. Am waiting to see if I have been accepted. (Acutually, Dan stayed home from work to do it becuase I had a mandatory all day meeting!) On Sat. I plan to start with the group and go to the office in between finishing and breakfast if the plan is to meet when everyone is finished.See you Saturday morning. Agree with Cindy on the movie. Very moving. Jeri
Where are we running tomorrow? I'm ready to kick Lolas ass....haha, Ms. not so speedy, but slow and steady is ready for 18...Karen-be ready for me!! I'm in rare form this week!!!Hahaha!!Getting ready to take a nap, cause you know I don't like to go to bed til midnight ;)!! Will check the blog when I wake up from my nap and see if anyone's posted. I'm assuming the park at 6?
I too am assuming the park at 6am. I am not sure if i should be worried or excited about your rare form! I am hurting all over and really hope by morning the aches and pains are gone! I believe the first 5-6 miles are in town and then it's out bottom road. See everyone in the morning!
Just got back from the Lola Papers talk. She was very interesting. Nice crowd was there. Yes, we're all meeting at the park at 6 - ugh! I'm not liking these early morning, dark runs. But at least it will be cool. Jeri, I won't be keeping up with you. I'm planning on doing a slower pace. See you all in the am. J
Can anyone answer this question....Why is it I can run 18 miles without stopping, but I can't seem to do 6, or for that matter 3 or 4 without walking? I have half a notion to post a message to all the pervs on Craigs list my running route, and the time I will be running next, just so I will be scared sh@tless....maybe then I could run nonstop. This is insane. I think I have become a dependent runner and have to have someone else to run with. Ugh!!!!Angie
Cindy and Jeri, when we were shopping this weekend we decided we needed a Christmas shopping trip. We ate lunch in St. Charles and thought it would be fun to go there during the holidays. Angie and I were wondering if the weekend of Nov. 17th or Dec. 1st would be a good time. What does everyone think? J
I'm good with Dec. 1 but promised Ben I would watch the boys the night of Nov 17. If the Nov 17 date works out best for the rest of you though, go for it. Finding a date for everyone probably won't happen.
Angie and Karen, looks like you may have some rain for your run in the morning. I hope not...just nice cool weather. As far as shopping, I am around both weekends (assuming we can see our Blue Man Group tickets at teh Fox for Dec.1) so my availability will be based on how much studying I have to do. I won't know that until the new class starts in mid October. I wanna get me some pants like Angie! Have great runs this weekend. The weather looks great, not an excuse for a bad run :). Hope to see everyone next weekend. BTW...Jean ate dinner at 234...wonderful au graten sweet potato. Also downloaded Gone Girl on my Nook. Amazing what the correct title does. Jeri
I got my 12 miles in this morning - the weather was great. We are going to have grandkids this weekend, so that worked best for me. I don't know why, but 12 miles seemed worse than 20 last weekend! I will miss next weekend because we will be out east and the following weekend we will be in the Ozarks. Looks like I won't be around until the Nauvoo run.
Jeri, you should have good weather for your marathon that you haven't signed up for! Let us know what you decided on, but I'm pretty sure we all know! Glad you liked 234. Gone Girl should be a nice diversion from your studying.
Everyone have a good run this weekend! Angie, I know you'll have fun with Madison! J
Home sweet home...To no one's surprise I ran the marathon and by mile 8 wished I was running the half. If I hadn't already spent money to register for Boston, not sure I would. Perfect weather and relatively flat course (boring actually and the worst final 10K I have ever run) so don't know why I had an off day, unless getting only about 2 hours of sleep and having rocks in my shoes almost the entire route had something to do with it. Finish time was 4:21:??, 2nd (I think) in my age group. Somewhere in the haze of the last half I passed a guy with Stinger Waffles in his spy belt and had to laugh thinking of Angie and Karen trying to choke these down! The BEST food at the finish line, complete with chocolate milk, sandwiches, lots of fruit, salty and sweet snacks. Too bad I couldn't enjoy any :). Also got a spy belt and cool gloves in the race packet. Had a great time seeing Jess and Violet so the weekend wasn't a total wash. See everyone soon. Jean, have a good time visiting Page. Jeri
Jeri-you did get 2nd. Congrats on a great finish since you only had 2 hours of sleep and the rocks in the shoes could not have helped any. Spibelt and gloves is much better than a cotton t shirt. cheryl-wow on the crossfit. I thought I was too tired to go to spinclass this am but decided I would feel better if I did. Strange but about half way through the class my legs did feel much better. I saw Mike's post about being dehydrated. I think sometimes when it is cool one doesn't think about drinking as much. Karen and Angie-how did your run go on Friday????
Jeri, I would be soooo happy with a 4:21! Congrats! I think you've earned a week or two off of training:) How did Jess do? Did he do the full? I'm wishing I had you to be my pacer in Indie! J
congratulations Jeri! we all knew you would do it!!! Karen and I ran our hilly 13 on Friday thanks to karens route planning. won't be letting her plan a route again anytime soon. see you on Saturday. angie
You would think everyone would have learned their lesson on letting me pick the route, but Angie must not have! Ha, ha! At the airport in North Carolina heading to Georgia to bear hunt, so won't be there Saturday. Hope to see everyone the following weekend. Have a good rest of the week. Congrats Jeri on the Marathon finish.
Well be careful Karen! I'm headed to the Lake of the Ozarks on Friday so will not be there on Saturday either. No surprise there I guess. A little worried about getting my long run (all 8 miles) in. Have a good week.
It looks like Angie, Cindy, and I are the only ones here this weekend. I haven't run since Sunday so will be taking it easy whatever I do. I don't know what mileage you have planned. Any interest in running in Hannibal and topping it off with a caramel roll at Java Jive? Jeri

13 done. Very small group at the 6 am run. Jeri-good luck with your race. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Congrats Jeri! Another fine marathon finish. Can't wait to follow you at Boston in April.
Saw Mike had to have a 700cc IV and an EKG after his half Ironman. Sounds like he is fine now though.
Finished my 8 this afternoon. Did get in 3 on Thursday so at least I ran twice this week. Also went to crossfit 4 times.
Have a good week.
