I'm heading out to Iowa tomorrow - taking my mom to visit relatives - so won't be running on Saturday. I guess I need to ramp up the miles now! Hope to see everyone next weekend.
is Boston one of those Horse marathons? just wondering. I'm meeting Kelly Baker for 3 miles at 7 on river rd, she's just coming back from an injury too. it seems too me no one was running this week, if anyone is, post so we can EAT!! Angie
13 miles done this morning. Had a bad night and didn't sleep much so I got a later start than I wanted. The last 2 miles was not pretty but it's done. I spent the day running errands and now it looks like my gas gauge on my car is acting up. Not sure how that is going to work for the long haul to Denver. Melissa called last night and they have been lucky given the ongoing rain in their area. No water in basement and she has been able to get to work as she works in South part of Denver. Most of the heavy rains have been North downtown Denver to Boulder and Ft. Collins. Estes Park at Rocky Mtn. National Park and Big Thompson Canyon are having issues too. Only way out of the National Park is over the top of the mountains and out the western entrance. Aurora where they had lived got 11 inches of rain and she said one of the apartments they had lived in the past had 3 feet of water in the parking lot. After we leave their place we are headed to Durango in the 4 corners area and they have not had as much rain but forecast is for another system to come out of Mexico and is headed towards Colorado. Angie since I ran 13 this morning I guess I will go ahead and sign up for the River run. Hopefully will be able to get in a couple of runs while on vacation. Congrats to Jean and Jeri regarding Boston Marathon.
Didn't even post last night cuz I thought we were all going our own way today. It was a beautiful morning to run...but still I struggled, esp.over the barricades on river road. How did 3 go Angie? Thanks to Whoever suggested gourd painting for Violet. Kept her busy while I napped. ,4 is entirely too early to be awake. Congrats Jean. Boston 2014 here we come. See everyone next weekend.
I am so excited for our Boston Marathon girls! I might be running again by then, we'll see. Saw my doctor today. MRI looked good and I am finally healing. I can't run though and I go back the end of October :( He did say that they don't usually see "high end athletes" like me. I held in my laughter and didn't bother to correct him. I hope to still join everyone for breakfast some between now and when I get back to the pavement. It is depressing not being able to exercise at all and gaining a pound a week!
Love the 'high end athlete' reference. Of course, you are Karen. You've run 3 marathons! Important thing is that your MRI was good and you are healing. You'll be back soon.
Ditto! Not many people can say they've run a marathon. I guess our next shirts will have to say "high end athletes"! For those of you thinking of trying crossfit, you can join Shadow for one month for $29. It would be a great time to try it out. The special ends Tuesday. Is anyone running on Saturday?
Well, this "high end athlete" (thanks for that title Karen!), will be running a grand total of 3 big ones on Saturday, of course, I know you guys are running farther, so I can jump in on the course if you let me know your plans. Angie
Great news on your MRI Karen. And how nice to be recognized as the high end athlete you are. I am planning on running Sat... 12 miles. Jean and Cheryl what are your plans? Running with Heartland? I'll adjust accordingly so I can join you for breakfast.
I thought I would do 9. Jeri, are you starting with the Heartland group? I would start a little later and all of us be done by 8. How does that sound? I'm ok with starting later if that's what everyone wants. Just post.
I'll plan to start with Heartland and add 3 miles to the 9 mile route, probably head up N. 5th to Einhaus Lane. Might connect with you on River Road toward the end. Will that work?
so does heartland start at 6 or 7? is it river road again? Cheryl I'd love to run with you, if we plan to end 8 ish, and they're doing r road, we could meet at Rocky point club out on r. rd, it's about 3 miles from the bottom of hill leading up to Washington park, and then walk up hill ;), maybe 7:15 at rocky point? we'll have to hitch a ride back to cars, or we could meet at park and do out and back, you decide. Angie
Anyone running this weekend. I am planning on running 8. Could someone forward the heartland route to me please. We are headed to Columbia Saturday afternoon to go to a football game. I am ready for a weekend with no travel plans.
Well after seeing Doug's route I may just run in the neighborhood to get in some hills. His route is flat flat flat. and next weeks race is hilly hilly hilly.
