12 miles done this morning. My watch is struggling to stay charged. But luckily it made it to past 6 miles so I turned around and went back so I may have done more than 12. It was colder and windier than I thought. Not sure what to do about the watch. Just started the past couple of weeks. Birthday coming up so may need to replace it. Have a good run this weekend and have fun on the Kelly's run. Have an Irish coffee and cinnamon roll. Going to Columbia tonight to see Tyler and take him out to dinner and then sleep a few hours at his "clean" bedroom and head out bright and early to Colorado. Looking forward to seeing our little Emmalee.
Have fun Cindy! Don't forget, everyone, that the price of Abe Lincoln half marathon goes up after Saturday! I ran one time this week and thought it was going to kill me. This weekend should be interesting. Hope to see everyone Saturday morning.
Cindy, hope you arrived safe and sound and by now are enjoying Emmalee. Thanks for the reminder to register for the Abe Lincoln. I haven't done that yet. Jean, I'll see you at 7:30 in the morning at Java Jive. Angie and Karen, see you at Java Jive when we are finished; don't eat all the caramel rolls. Cheryl, hope to see you soon. Jeri
Just making sure u saw my post below Cheryl. Karen and I are starting off earlier, at 7, Jean and Jeri at 7:30 from Java jive. doing 11 miles., if u want to join either group. Karen and I hope to be finishing about the same time. caramel rolls after. let us know if you can join us. Angie
You guys are going to give up on me! I will be there to join you some week. Last week would have been a good one since it was your cutback week. I ran 5 miles two weeks ago but none since. Would meet you at Java jive but need to meet Greta at 9:45.
I'll be there at 7:30...but don't expect too much Jeri! Hope you haven't made the route too challenging! Cheryl, miss seeing you...hope we get together soon. And Cindy, I know I don't have to tell you to have fun with baby Emmalee.
Cheryl and Cindy, be glad that you didn't run with us yesterday! Angie and Jeri picked the route and it was Hannibal's hilliest. And Jeri about killed me with her pace! My hamstrings are screaming!
I can run, but I don't really need to do 11 or 12 since I'm not doing the Lincoln run. I would be up for 8 or so, but if everyone else is doing more I'll probably just run on my own.
A disclaimer on Jean's comment regarding last week being Hannibal's hilliest! Not really Jean. If you are interested, I think Angie and I can find a hillier route for you :) I ran my 20 yesterday morning. Not as cold as I expected, sunny, little wind. Actually a good day to run 20 miles - if there is such a thing. We have tickets to see War Horse at the Fox tomorrow so will run before I go but not sure I'll connect with the group. I'll wait to see what you plan. I will probably do a short (5-6 miles)run Sunday if anyone is interested and we aren't snowed in...again! I'll check back in later to see the plans. Jeri
Karen and I are planning 12 tomorrow. Jean, if you're not running that distance with us, my suggestion to anyone who might be interested in that mileage, I have to drive Madison back to school, so Hannibal would be good for me. Now the real question ...are you up for the same route as last week? 7:30 Java jive anyone?
Jeri-R u spending the night in St. Louis? Snow headed this way. We really lucked out going to Denver last weekend as it is a snow event since last night and then headed across kansas and missouri to Illinois and on. I love winter and snow but must admit enough now.
Sounds good to me! Where we meeting? I would not normally say this, but I would be ok with a hilly route to get some hills in before the hilly half marathon! I would also say screw it and run a flat route tomorrow!
I'm running and need to do at least 12 so will meet up at 7:30 with everyone wherever we decide the starting place is. If we want some hills we could meet at IVH and go out North 5th to Einhaus Lane, down to Bottom Rd and back through the park across from Bangert (can't remember the name),although I'm not sure how far that is. OR start at Madison park and head toward IVH and go through all the parks along the river and back to Madison. OR start at Madison Park and head out S 24th to ghost hollow road to 96 to 48th and back to Madison Park. OR Washington Park out North 5th to Einhaus Lane and backon bottom road (hills out and flat back. OR start at IVH and take the Cedar Creek trail to 18th, 18th north to the end and the east to behind Knapheid to Koch's Lane, then east again to 30th to College and back to IVH (I know that is 9 miles). All of these are a combination of hills and not so hilly. Lots of choices! All this being said I don't care where we run so will show up wherever. I ran into Cheryl at dinner last night. She said she hopes to join us again in April. Someone decide on the starting point and we can figure out a route from there unless someone has a specific route in mind. Thyme Square for breakfast after? Jeri
geez!!! good thing I finally got on the blog!! I've been so busy working in our upstairs bathroom these last two days and planning vacation haven't had, will be able to shower upstairs by Sunday!!! We've been working on that bathroom since last summer! !! I will see you all at IVH tomorrow at 7:30. Angie
Angie- You might want to check out website about a series of half marathons called "go girl run" that are in May in Missouri. Springfield, Mo on the 11th, Kansas City, MO on 18th, and Columbia, Mo on 25th. I think the half marathon is for women only and a portion of entrance fee goes to a charity of your choice. If not this year maybe next year.

7:30 Java jive works for me. The route is not at the top of the list, but will work!
By Karen, At March 22, 2013 at 8:07 PM
I will plan on Hannibal at 7:30 am for 12. Only got in 2 runs this week and no spinning so it is going to be ugly. And just not feeling it.
By cindy lou who, At March 22, 2013 at 8:28 PM
We want to head for STl. early so I will run on my own at home. Have a great run tomorrow everyone. Hope we can meet up next weekend. Jeri

By cindy lou who, At March 27, 2013 at 9:02 PM

By Karen, At March 28, 2013 at 5:37 PM
I'm up for a run...I was thinking 8 too. Quincy? 7:30?
